Fancy a day out with the kids that doesn’t cost the earth, but provides exercise, fresh air, food for the imagination and a good old play ground thrown in? Then look no further than Slieve Gullion Forest Park.
The walk, despite being quite a wee trek at times, is disugised as a bit of an adventure, with fairy doors, a giant’s furniture and lots to amuse on the way round, the result being, that the little ones won’t even notice how hard their legs are working (Cue an early bedtime!) The stunning views and forest setting make this a place that all ages can enjoy and appreciate and, amazingly? It’s free!
Just a short drive out of Newry, the Giant’s Lair and Adventure park is sure to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours and , if the attractions on the way around aren’t enough, the play park at the end which caters for a range of ages, complete with swings, slides, climbing frames and even a zip wire, is worth a visit on its own!
Having visited with kids who are a range of ages, there is something for all and, if like us, you happen to need a ‘reading a book in an unusual place’ type photo, then it’s just what you’re after!
A great day out, at an even better price!
