Well, in a week that has at times felt more October than July, we’ve made it to another Friday… seriously, how is that possible already?! We’ve also crossed the half-way point in the month, so I’m hoping it was the fast half and the second part will have got tired from rushing and will want the days to move at a slower pace… ’cause obviously that’s how it works! Anyhow, enough waffling, let’s get on with our #little loves for the week that has just zoomed past.
Well, this week as well as some blog catch-ups, I’ve still been continuing with ‘Simplify’ and ‘Us’. The latter is still continuing to entertain – as well as educate: who knew the words ‘solipsism’ and ‘morass’ existed? I didn’t until earlier today!! I have to confess to loving new words (to me even if not to the rest of the world) and am indebted to the dictionary function on my Kindle for making their understanding as easy as tapping the screen!
I have to say, I’m watching the Channel 4 ‘Married at First Sight’ with some interest – I really don’t know how it’s all going to work out. I don’t know whether I think they’re really brave or utterly crazy! I can’t imagine what it must be like to prepare for what is one of the most significant day’s in someone’s life, knowing nothing about the main person you will be experiencing the day with! Perhaps more than how the featured couples have got on, I’d love to know if the couple who haven’t been featured because the ‘bride’ chose not to go ahead with it, have actually been introduced to each other and allowed to even date… if that option hasn’t been considered, Channel 4, another series dedicated to this perhaps?! I’ve also watched my littlest getting increasingly better at pulling herself up – shame my confidence doesn’t match hers… what do you mean shin, elbow and knee pads and crash helmets aren’t all avaiable in baby sizes?!
For the first time in forever, I ventured into the uncomfortable territory that is the swimsuit. You will be releaved to know that there is no photographic evidence of this (phew!). My intention had been that I would be pretty much bikini ready for the summer (don’t worry, I’d never actually be brave enough to wear it even if I had the body of a supermodel- ok, well maybe then!). The diet has been a work in progress, with exercise thrown in as well, but for some reason it would seem that my fat is very attached to me – unfortunately this is literal as well as metaphorical. I’m not totally sure what is going on with my body as I have enough diet experience to know that the cruelty of the scales is not in direct proportion to my eating – if anyone out there is reading this and has any magic solutions, boy would I love to hear them… frustration is my current setting! As far as the kids are concerned though, little Miss M has worn her very first swim suit and, hooray, seemed to love the pool! Little Miss K attempted to use a make-up pencil to line her eyes… see photographic evidence for just how well that worked out! Miss E was sporting a new favourite – a top and jacket that see her transform into a grown up before our eyes… I’ll have a side of denial to go with the furstration please!
The girls have been going to a CSSM near us this week and that has meant time in the car every day as it’s not in walking distance and, the journey music of choice has been the ‘Hairspray’ CD… where else but in the realm of musical theatre would we hear ‘there’s the falsher who lives next door’ and I’m in love with you no matter what you weigh’ on the one album… is there anything that doesn’t sound suitable when sung (don’t answer that… I already know the answer!)
This has been quite a busy week for Little Green Tree and, besides creating orders, a few new pieces have been created and or experimented with, and are now added to our display at the local library which has taken an unexpected, extended residence there. Our Crafty Kit range is beginning to take a much more tangible presence and the girls very kindly helped me out with some ideas! I hope to do a wee post explaining a little more about these soon, so watch this space.
We were very fortunate, last weekend, to be able to take some time away together and it might have been short, but it really was wonderful… but more of that later! The final icing on my cake this week, was truly one of those simple pleasures in life that are like a breath of fresh air: a whole hour with my Kindle and a coffee! Yes, it was in a car park waiting, yes there was a sleeping child in the back but… when it happens not once but TWICE in the same week, well, who needs spa breaks?!
Hope your week was good… night all x
